...music that rocks you...like a baby

Per Se is: Grey Anne (aka Anne Adams).

Per Se does: Expressions of ambivalence, tragedy, optimism, and true love, through the mixed media of guitar, vocals, looping pedal, occasional accordion, kalimba, and percussion.

Per Se appeals to: indoor cats, fairie princesses, disaffected youth and cynical romantics.

Wing-wearing, wisecracking, emotionally charged Anne Adams (aka Grey Anne) has gradually emerged as one of Portland, Oregon's more spellbinding live personalities.

Showgoer Jen Collier explains: "Per Se happens and something magical enchants the room...you will cry even if you do not feel like it...maybe you will notice you have entered a gingerbread house and it is snowing sparkly snowflake ornaments and oranges are peeled like puzzle pieces...."

Through a revolving roster of backup players and circumstances, Per Se has remained a fledgeling recording project, with a debut CD adrift in the shuffle.

Now complete and poised for release, the lost Per Se album hopes to honor the following votes of confidence:

Voted one of Willamette Week's most anticipated albums of '08.
